This year Christian Aids focus is three fold – KENYA, COVID REPONSE AND CLIMATE JUSTICE – an incredible country, an immediate need and a long term essential. Alternatively if you want to support a local closer to home charity then Flo (my running buddy) is running for – Self Injury Support – SIS - A local mental health team, who provide support and training to those who are affected by self-harm. They are very close to the ground and local in Bristol supporting a 24 hour helpline for people. It’s also a brilliant charity. Flo says this “Despite the rhetoric around the importance of mental health, charities supporting individuals and their families are struggling to secure funding amid all the change and uncertainty. I have been involve with Self Injury Support for 3 years and they are quite simply amazing at what they do. Just as important to me as raising money, is raising the profile of SIS in the hope that more people will be able to access their fantastic resources.” So if you want to give, to both or either of these charities - we would be both delighted and humbled. We would also value your prayers. If you have people you know who would like to support either of us or both then please do share this “Good news”.
